Asset leasing data migration for lease associated with Fixed asset records

Has anyone brought over Asset leasing data for Fixed asset from legacy system to D365F? Do we need to assign Fixed asset on lease summary record? If we do so, the system post acquisition for already acquired Fixed asset.  Appreciate someone who has done this migration provide some insight on how to and best approaches?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Judy,

This video does not explain how leased data with Fixed asset will be migrated. I am looking for the approach that will not duplicate the acquisition.

    Hi NYadav,

In case of you associate a fixed asset to a lease, when you post the initial recognition in asset leasing it will post asset acquisition in both cases if the asset is already acquired or not.

Here you'll need to remark the following points when you associate a fixed asset to a lease,

You'll need to configure the fixed assets posting profile to be posted to the ROU and depreciation to lease depreciation (expense and accumulated depreciation) accordingly

There are some functions in lease book will be disabled

    • Depreciation schedule -  as you'll need to run depreciation on the fixed assets module
    • Impairment - as you'll need to post writ up/down on the fixed assets module
    • Asset transactions - as the asset transactions in lease module will not carry the fixed assets module depreciation, you'll need to check the transactions from the fixed assets.

You'll be able to access fixed asset profile, balance and transactions from lease book form.

    Hope this helps.
