Duplicate Detection Issue

Posted on by 285

Hello,

I am using the contacts entity for different contact types, there is a field called Contact Type on the form. The issue I am having is that there are occasions where a contact can be more than one Contact Type, which means the same contact with the same name, email address etc, can be created more than once, which is fine.

The problem is there are duplicate detection rules which run in the background that match on exact contact email, so the duplication screen will appear even when it is not necessary, are there any suggestions as a work around for this? Ideally so long as the contact is a different  Contact Type the duplicate detection prompt should not appear.

Thanks

    Hello,

Include "Type" field to your duplicate detection rule like following:
