is it possible to mark an appointment activity as private? The field ismapiprivate exists in the appointment entity, but it can't be used in forms and even the field itsself isn't changeable (e.g. set default value).

Assuming you want to enforce security on appointment entity i.e. other users can't see you appointments. If this is correct then you need to set the security permission for activity entity as permission works collectively for all activities.

If this is not what you are looking for then please elaborate more on your requirement. Field ismapiprivate is for internal use.
