AX Retail Login Customization

Hi All,

I want to make a customization into AX POS retail login module. instead of typing operator id and password, can i read externally and pass to POS with operator id and password?

    Please outline how exactly you are envisioning it: you would have some process which would automatically (?) type into those textboxes or you meant something else like even avoiding that login UI in a first place? Why this (the requirement for a real person to type login/password) is the problem if the rest of POS UI is still supposed to be used by a real person sitting in front of screen rather than service.

    So, without knowing what exactly reason you have and what is your end goal it is hard to suggest but, overall, the approach you want seems like would impose security risk because you would need to store a password somewhere (on client side I guess) and as a result it can be compromised which exposes a vulnerability.

    If related to single sign-on, maybe, but probably not for most other reasons. Since it impacts the ecosystem of the certified payments solution, it could bring the entire application into PA-DSS certification scope.

    I've Microsoft Dynamics 2012 FP installed. i wanted to implement Biometric (finger print reader) login via AX POS. i know that this feature is available in 2012 R2 onwards.  Could you please let me know is there any way to implement this feature in feature pack?

    It sounds like you want to use biometric as authentication that will also trigger the automatic delivery of user name and password. Is that correct? No, that is not PCI Compliant. Per PCI DSS section 8, biometric can be used for two-factor authentication such as fingerprint and manually entering unique user ID/pass.
