Dear,
I have CUSTTRANS in AX. My company is migrating to D365
How can I find CUSTTRANS is mapping to which target entities in FinOps and field mapping
It is killing me to find
Please reply
Regards
Hi RajMaddala,
You can't just migrate CustTrans through entity (and there is no entity for CustTrans). You need to migrate open balance and needed documents (orders, invoices, payments..) separatelly.
Hi Raj,
Which version of AX are you migrating from?
CUSTTRANS doesn't have a direct entity that you can write data into since invoices/payments need to be posted for populating CustTrans table. How are you planning on transferring data into CustTrans using a data entity?
Hi Gunjan
Thanks for the reply. I am not D365 developer. I am into BI reporting.
I just need to identify fields used in AX\CUSTTRANS to what entities in FinOps and field names
So far, I have identified 2 entities from CUSTTRANS (CustomerFreeTextInvoices and CustomerPaymentJournalLIne)
In these two, I can find only 19 field mappings but couldn't find the rest(67 fields)
Is there any way I can find mappings?
Thanks
If you have access to a Dev box, do a right click on CustTrans and select "Find references". You will be able to find all the entities that use CustTrans. I, however, don't think you will find all the fields in these entities. You might need to create a new entity for your PowerBI needs
CustomerFreeTextInvoices and CustomerPaymentJournalLIne are your custom data entities? Based on CustTrans table?
You need to create a custom entity, you may not be able to directly base it on the CustTrans table.
You can create it based on other tables first. When the wizard is finalized, remove the fields and data sources. Then add CustTrans to the data source, you can see all the fields.
Hi Gunjan Bhattacharyya,
Thanls for the reply. I have tried but it has given 4975 references for CUSTTRANS
Out of these, how can I find target entities it has mapped to
You can check the references marked as "Dynamicsdataentityviews".
Hi Gunjan,
Sorry, a quick question.
I can see CustTrans from front end. Account Receivables\All Customers\Customers\Transactions
It is showing Customer account and transactions types(Payment, Sales Order...)
I know TransType is a combobox but where does it store this field for a customer transactions.
I mean how do I know how many different TransTypes for a customer. Which entity holds this top level information?
The list of TransTypes is metadata, not data. It comes from base enum called LedgerTransType. So the quickest solution is to look at this enum in AOT and check the values. But you can also query metadata API via [yourD365URL]/data/$metadata
docs.microsoft.com/.../odata
Hi Nikolaos,
Thanks for the reply. I agree it is enum.
What I am asking is how do I know How many types of TransTypes exist for a customer?
Just like what it is showing in Customer Transactions but through a backend query
Tahnks
