When I try and create/update a new Print Management setting, I get the error "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation".

Any ideas?

    Hi James,

I think you tried to add a screenshot. This one is not visible. Can you repost it?

    Hi James,

If it worked before, you can try to restart the SSRS service. If not, verify if the report server settings in AX are correct. Restarting usually helps at another customer.

    Thanks Andre

The restarts of the SSRS service did not work. Where exactly can I check the Report Server settings in AX?

It is in System administration > Setup > Business Intelligence > Reporting Services. You may set up the report servers and the report design layouts there.

Please verify if you can select a regular printer instead of your PDF printer, maybe it is a driver issue.

    Thanks for the reply Vilmos

It seems as if the settings are not the issue either... all looks correct.

To answer your question: I have tried printing to screen as well as an email address, and the same error comes up.

We have done a clone of this system, on to a brand new environment (new SQL, new AOS, etc.) and the error exists that side as well.. So I believe it has something to do with the setup (as opposed to environmental).

    any other ideas?

    Hi Vilmos

Something strange as well.. If I override the default, and add a printer: Microsoft XPS Writer, and press OK, it saves without error. I open up the same default, and change the printer to email (and enter an email address in) and it saves without error.

The above is currently a workaround.

If I remove the override, and then override it again, and try assign an email address (before assigning a printer) the error comes up..

Well if it does work in some scenarios but not others, it would be worth debugging on what is happening when you get the error message. My guess would be something cached in the Usage data might be pulling incorrect values, which raises the error message for you. Did you try to drop your Usage data in the Options menu for your user account? Please note that with this you would lose your form personalizations, report filters etc., but could be worth a try in a test system.
