Getting this error when updating a contact information "cannot edit a record in communications details(logisticsElectronicAddress) security policy permission denied"
It stared happening after PU 24 and version 10 update. looks like some privilege got messed up, any idea?
Thanks!
Enter privilege LogisticsElectronicAddressFormPreviewPartView to your security role and publish
Hi,
Which exact security role is used when you get this error?
Has anyone found a resolution to this? My client is facing the same challenge. Have not seen a hotfix come through for this and wondering if there are other ways to resolve?
Hi Ann2015,
have you found a solution?
We have the same issue and did not modified or add new security policies. We have only the standard D365 security policies.
Replication steps:
(The error occurs only in a non-sysadmin role - e.g. sales manager)
1. Go to a Contact person
2. Add a new contact information line and fill it out
3. Add another new contact information line and fill it out
4. Return to the line of step 2 and change the contact number/address
5. Save -> Error: "Cannot edit a record in Communcations details (LogisticsElectronicAddress). Security policy permission denied."
Changing contact information numbers/addresses that are created before entering the contact person can be edited without an issue
Hi Ann,
This error is related to eXtensible Data Security. Did you create or enable security policies? If you are not aware if it happened, check the security policies in the AOT node which are active and related to the contact information.
edit and update in the contacts Form.
updating through which process?
