The customer wants to be able to collect payments/credit cards in GP over the web. What can be recommended for that?

Hi Oleg-
Century Business Solutions has a product called EBizCharge that lets you take credit card payments in GP. They also have a complete PCI-compliant portal they offer for free.
It is really slick.

Nodus has a family of products that integrate with GP receivables as well as ProFad's Collection Management module (in addition to their credit card integration with GP cash receipts and RM/SOP transaction windows):
