License for entities

Hi All,

Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

How does the Dynamics 365 license work on an entity?

User A has the following licenses:

Sales Enterprise

Field Service (Attached to qualifying base license)

User B has:

Sales Enterprise

I've added "Agreements" from the Field Service module to the Sales Enterprise(Sales Hub) sitemap because our sales team create the Agreements for our Ops department and it's annoying to keep switching from Sales Hub to Field Service.

However, User B can still access "Agreements" from within the Sales Hub even though they don't have the Field Service license.

How does this work? I thought the whole point of the "Attached to qualifying base license" was so users that required access to another module/entity could get it cheaper, are these licenses not needed if I've added the entity to an apps sitemap that the user IS licensed for? Or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you are licenced to do it - for a long time Microsoft has not enforced.fully all the licencing restrictions - but they can if they want to and have started doing so for various licence types.

Download the latest Dynamics 365 Licencing Guide and look at the Sales Use Rights Overview table and the one for Field Service.  Generally, read access is allowed for all Dynamics 365 data, however unless it is listed you are not licenced for write etc (and so have to addon the other licence as appropriate).
