Dear community,

We are getting an Business Process error concerning not adding a custom entity record to the lead. The Business Process fails on creating the opportunity.

We want to adjust the requirement for creating the opportunity and change the error message. I cannot find the requirements for creating the opportunity and this error message.

Now my question is: where can I find the setup for this?

Kind regards,
Norman

    Hi Partner,
This doesn't seem to be an error message that comes with the system?
As well as you mentioned that the error is related to custom entities?
If so, check if there is a process(workflow..) or plugin associated with the current entity?

I hope you can mark my answer verified if it is helpful! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah

    Dear Leah Ju,

The error message is custom. However the Business Process Error is standard when qualifying the lead going througt the steps: Retrieving lead information, Creating Account, Creating Contact, etc. And it fails on Creating Opportunity.

I have checked most workflows but could not find anything related. And I think it must be somewhere added in the standard. But where...

    Regards,
    Norman

    Hello Norman,

As per the error message, it looks like you are qualifying the lead and it failed with the error.

I think there may be a field in BPF that is marked as required, and qualifying the lead without value in respective fields can cause such an error.

Request you to please validate the same and if this is not the case, please share complete screenshot of error message to identify the cause.

    Regards,
    Daivat Vartak

As Leah Ju mentioned, it really feels like a Workflow (process) that is throwing this error.
Did you check the workflows for all the entities you mentioned? (lead, account, contact and opportunity)

In the end it was just a workflow checking whether there was a product linked via another custom entity. Could not find it because naming totally illogical. Thanks everyone for thinking along.
