Product dimensions- Length, width and height

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there is standard feature to support Length, width and height as a product dimension.

Client doesn't use size, color, configuration, and version. Can we rename product dimensions in D365 F&O without any customization?

Or any workaround to fulfill this kind of requirement. Item's Length, width and height needs to be on Sales order and Purchase order line as order is received in that way.

You can use this dimensions by to change their names. (Labels)

Hy,

as Billur wrote you can rename that product dimension.

My experience was even if these dimension are renamed on the product dimenions master data, some other labels (mentioning size, style, ....) will appear on some forms and reports, so it is not 100% and some dependencies exist to similar labels of product dimensions.

Thank you for the link.

However, I was curious if we can do that in F&O. In F&O, there is no 'Rename' button.

Since AX2012 has that feature, I thought there could be same in F&O as well.

I don't think there is a way to achieve this, because the names of these dimensions are already not enabled, this is by design.

Renaming of product dimensions was deprecated in Dynamics 365. See also the announcement from Microsoft. Removed or deprecated features in previous releases - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

You can create new dimensions for the Length, Width, and Heigth using an extension: Add new inventory dimensions through extension - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn
