Event Planning | Automatic Check-ins on Online Team Meeting Event.

Query regarding Automatic check-in for participants who click the Join Virtual OH button (linked to the MS Teams meeting) on Event Planning Module.
 
When we create online event and its virtual event we want our customers to be automatically checked in when they join the meeting. Can we automatically do that or does it need manual intervention?

    Out of the box, you need manual intervention. To make it automatic, you’d need to build a Power Automate flow or small custom integration that marks participants as checked in when they join via Teams.

    Automatic check-in when participants join a Microsoft Teams meeting from the Event Planning (Marketing) module is not supported out of the box.
     
    Here is how it works today:
    • When participants click the “Join” button and attend the meeting, Dynamics 365 does not automatically mark them as checked in.
    • The Check-in status needs to be updated manually from the Event record or through a custom process.
     
    If you want to automate this, you can implement a custom approach:
    > Use Microsoft Teams meeting attendance reports (available after the meeting ends) via Microsoft Graph API or Power Automate.
    > Match attendees email addresses with the Event Registration records in Dataverse.
    > Update the Check-in field automatically via a Power Automate flow.
     
    This approach will require some development effort, but it can fully automate check-in based on actual meeting attendance.
