MS Excel Add-on asking for user name and password

Hi,

I got a customer who have hosted NAV server and NAV 2013 R2 client installed locally. Local PC and Nav hosted server are on different domains. User will click on the NAV client installed locally and it will prompt for a user name and password (it authenticates via Windows Authentication on the server domain). When they do an export to excel (they got excel addon installed on PC), it asks for user name and password every time to download and save the file. This is very annoying and I have removed the add on and now the excel export works fine.

However we need to install the excel add-on so as to get some reports refreshed. Is there anyway to overcome this authentication as the user is already logged onto NAV (not sure why another authentication is required every time it exports to excel). Thanks in advance

Regards,

Cecil

You would need to setup a trust between those two domains.

Hi, would the above apply to users using NAV DB login as well? My issue is that users using NAV 2013R2 try to export to Excel 2016 and they require to input the username and password again although they are already logged in NAV using NAV username & password. Authentication is required only from a few users not all of them...

Also, users are in a workgroup rather than under one domain....

    thanks!
