Upgrade informational warning (your system will be upgraded)

hi

We are upgrading from 10.0.33 to 10.0.36. In the past we used to apply base release (for eg. 10.0.36 in this case) and then apply customized code package.

We were told that there is no need for this two step process. If we apply customized packaged (10.0.36) then system will automatically be upgraded to target version.

Unfortunately, when I tried to apply customized code pacakge today, we did not receive the warning that was used to in the past. (Your system will be upgraded). For now, I have once again scheduled release package (10.0.36 in this case) and then I will apply customized package.

However, even when I scheduled release 10.0.36, I did not get the warning about system upgrade. Has Microsoft gotten rid of this warning? Any insight is appreciated.

yeah after asking the first question, it disappeared for a day. Now it has reappeared, not sure why.

I dont see how the suggestion above is relevant to my question. The package had no problem. We finally did not want to take risk and hence completed the code movement in two steps 1) apply base version 2) apply custimized package.

    Hi
Because the package that was applied wasn't valid, the servicing status is Failed, and no updates are listed in the Environment updates section. To verify whether the package is valid, follow these steps.
    • Download and unzip the logs.
    • Navigate to the logs for the Application Object Server (AOS) machine.
    • Verify that the DownloadFilesAndSlipstreamTools-xxx and GenerateRunbook-xxx folders exist.
    • Open the GenerateRunbook-xxx folder, and then open the file for the output type.
    • If you find an error message or an exception that states that a file is missing or failed to generate any steps for the runbook, there was an attempt to upload a package that wasn't valid.
And you should select Abort to abort the current package, upload a new package, and then restart the servicing flow. For more information about package application issues, you can view the link below:
