"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

Hi All, 

I am facing an issue ,when ever  i start the AX AOS services its shows an error 

"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

I am using AX 2012 R2 CU7.

Can any one have any idea about this issue.

    Hi Harry,

    There is a standard timeout for starting services. It expects to be started then. Can you confirm if the AOS is started anyway?

    When you try to start the service manual and don't close the dialog box, you will get the same error. When you click OK, you will notice that the service is in Starting state.

    It takes some more time, but in the end the AOS should be up and running.

    You can try to increase the value of the timeout as well. I don't know the registry value entry. You can search on internet for it.

    If the AOS does not start... try to find additional events.

    HI Andre,

    thanks for your suggestion.  I tried all of these , but after showing this error its not come in stating stage it just be same "stopped".

    Are you sure that you checked the event log?

    Do you have this problem in a virtual machine? I think I had the same issue about a week ago.

    In the windows registry I increased the WaitToKillServiceTimeout value.

    HKEY_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control

    I also added the ServicesPipeTimeout in this section with a high value.

    It was working then, but I have some other problems with this VM so I have not checked if it is still working as I'm not using this VM until I find some time to fix the issues.

    What i have to check in event log, i mean should i search some specific log or what?

    Hi Andre,

    I installed on a local system on server 2012, i am not using Virtual Machine for it.

    This errors comes after upgrading the CU7 and while running software upgrade check list.

    Just look for errors and warnings thrown by the AOS at the time of failure. Is there too many of them or why are you asking?

    HI Martin/Andre,

    I run again CIL compilation and Application compilation, than stat again Software upgrade check list now it works without any error. I just completed all steps under software upgrade check list.

    I think issue was in CIL compilation may be it was not completed successfully.

    I am experiencing the same problem.

    This started after an update on the server running the AOS. The ServicePipeTimeout value was increased  120000 long before this upgrade. AOS service keeps trying to start then I get the error "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".

    Will be happy to hear from anyone who resolved this and how they went about it.
