Can the resource scheduler be used without a field service license?

The main entities in use are bookable resource, bookable resource category, bookable resource characteristics, bookable resource category assn and characteristics.

Any info and documentation would be appreciated.

I have the same question (0)

Resource Scheduling is part of the Universal Resource Scheduling feature, which requires you to have the following:

    • Dynamics 365 Field Service, Project Service, or Customer Service.

    • A license for Resource Scheduling. More information: Onboard your organization and users to Dynamics 365 (online)

    • User credentials with the Universal Resource Scheduling security role, in order to manage the solution once it has been deployed.

You could use the license to Customer Service for half the cost of Field Service to get the ability to do scheduling.

Thanks for the info, I had read the above restricted entities document from MS but I also wanted a second opinion to confirm.

    hey!

Have you checked docs.microsoft.com/.../data-platform-restricted-entities ?  This contains the tables that require a specific license, for example, field service.  The tables mentioned on your side do not show on this list, so in theory that would allow using Resource Scheduler.  However, there are some other intermediate tables that DO require field service:

    - Resource Assignment Detail

    - Resource Assignment

    - Resource restriction

    - Schedule board Setting

    - Scheduling Parameter

    - System User Scheduler setting

    - Booking Setup metadata

    - Booking timestamp

These tables do not show on your list but they might be part of the scheduling and therefore, would require either a Field Service license, or a Customer Engagement plan (the bundle that used to be sold with Sales+Services+FieldService)

    Best regards
