Hi,
I am using visual studio 2015 to develop ssrs report. The requirement is to add a dynamic image from a website.
The image is not showing. it gives a small x red box on the top left corner.
What i did is i add an image, and select the image soruce as external and paste the url of the image. it is not working.
please help.

Wesam, sorry for delay. You probably already figured this out. Your on-premise server needs to have access to that URL, also the client accessing the report needs to have access to that URL. So this may be question for your network tell to verify the URL can be accessed across all those points.

Thank you Jeevarajan. It is on-premise. But I can't use a local folder because the requirement is to parse an id for a fixed website and then based on the record the image will display.
However, if i put the url on the extrnal path it is showing on the design, but when i click review the small top left x will appear and the image is not showing.

Hi Wesam,
If it is on premise, just storing the image in the SSRS local folder should work.
If it is an online instance, as suggested by Tom,
1. It has to be available either as a web resource or
2. If the image is going to change based on the record, you can use the entityimage attribute.

3. If you wanted to have multiple images against single record and show them in the report, or the image is going to be stored in the related entity, it can be added as an attachment in that entity or its related entity.

Hi Wesam, thanks for reaching out.
Are you on-premise or online? You are importing the SSRS report into D365 correct?
I am not sure this is going to work, web browsers do not like embedded objects like SSRS reports showing in a pop up window, calling out to another URL, similar like CORS in javascript.
What I have done is load the image as a web resource and paste the URL in the SSRS report, then import the SSRS report. That would be one way to test my theory about reaching out to external URL.
