Quantities cannot exceed total quantity plus quantity already transferred. when using eConnect to update sales order quantities

I have a customization using eConnect that has been importing sales orders by updating QTYTBAOR for a couple of weeks now successfully.

This morning we received this error on one of the orders.

Quantities cannot exceed total quantity plus quantity already transferred.

I can get this message manually when updating an order that has been partially shipped if I try to enter a quantity greater than what was originally ordered.

However, in this case this not what  is happening but I do see happening is that the original order quantity was  80 and at the time they only had 20 so 60 were  back ordered.

Today this order was in the import file with a quantity of 60. In my customization I am setting QUANTITY to 60 and QTYTBAOR to 0. What other quantity fields should I be assigning a value.

You need to alter your code a little by just sending values to these two fields it will not get pass to this message.

What other fields besides QUANTITY and QTYTBAOR? The only other quantity fields in eConnect are QTYCANCE and QTYFULFI. The problem I see with these orders lines is that QUANTITY is 80, QTYTOINV is 60 and QTRYTBAOR is 0. QTYTOINV should be zero and QTYTBAOR should be 60. They are backwards. The original order was for 80 but they only had 20 at the time so 60 should have been back ordered.

Do you have .Net project? I used eConnect stored procedures directly from dexterity and did have some code for handling scenarios with manufacturing items .

eConnect is what is generating these messages. I have discovered many lines that have incorrect quantities. They have resulted from partial orders. As an example, the original order was for 100. They only had 40 so what should have been on the line was QUANTITY 100 and QTYTBAOR 40. What is actually on the line is QUANTITY 100, QTYTOINV 40, QTYFULFI 40 and QTYTBAOR 0.I am currently investigating how many lines are like this as this is what is causing eConnect to throw this error.
