Search for Leads and Contacts by Email Domain in CRM

Hi Community --

I've been disappointed in the universal search capabilities of Dynamics CRM. The universal search doesn't seem to be able to allow us to search by email domain. This has historically been the easiest way to locate all leads from the same organization in past CRMs.

In our organization, we receive over 100 leads per day, and manually associating all of those to an account everyday hasn't been an option for us.

My goal is to be able to universally search to see all entities connected with an organization. How would you recommend I do that?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

You can use '*@domain.com' to search all records having email with a specific domain.

For instance when i search using "*@example.com". it lists all contacts having emails with @example.com:

RE: Search for Leads and Contacts by Email Domain in CRM

    Hi partner,

I tested in my new environment, here is the result.

    1. When the keyword is @example, there is no results found.

    pastedimage1597977205135v1.png

    2. When the keyword is *@example, the result has accounts and contacts, no leads.

So this result reflects two things.

    1. We have to add * before @domain in the keyword.

    2. We have to add the Email field into the Quick Find view.

    Please refer to https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/xrm/posts/how-to-set-up-global-search-in-microsoft-dynamics-365

In the customizations, edit the Quick Find view of Lead entity.

Add Find columns and select Email field.

    Save and publish all customizations.

In this way, we can search the email of leads.

Thanks as always Hao, this worked!

I also included phone number fields in the search and it works great.
