how to import data of a table from backup

Hi,

i did a data backup of the database and model store. I had to drop and create a table due to fieldID mismatch error.

Illegal data conversion from original field KANBANJOB.QUEUETIMEBEFORE to KANBANJOB.QueueTimeBeforeUnit: Unable to convert data types to anything but character field type (1 to 49).

How to import data back to the table?

Thanks,

lakshmi

    Hi!

If you have DB which contains the data you can use import/export tool inside management studio.

could you explain me in step by step process or any documentation that gives me a step by step way to import data?

Especially where and how to specify the backup file of my database?

    Thanks,

    Lakshmi

I would look into the SQL server documentation. Also be sure to restore your backup to a new database, not in your current one (or you will overwrite it). After restore you will have the current and the old db side by side and you can copy between them.

How did this field id problem appear in the first place? I would say the best process in such scenario is to restore from backups immediately and figure out another way to do what you were doing.
