How to setup a Hotel Room Allocation for a slightly different date range than the Event date range

Hi,

I have a client who is setting up event management and I'm walking them through it. Yesterday I showed them the event logistics and we discussed Hotel Room Allocations. They like the feature but they have some event attendees who typically reserve hotel rooms for the event that may extend AFTER the event or include days BEFORE the event. Their question is, how can we setup Hotel Room Allocations that would follow a modified date range than what is entered into the Event record. I don't see a way to do this but I told them I would look into and it and get back to them. Is this possible?

I have the same question (0)

I think I may have answered my own question. It doesn't matter what date range is on the event. It simply allows you to set the "Number of Rooms Allocated" and then follows that number based on the related Hotel Room Reservation records that are added for that particular Event. So I think the solution here is to add a custom date field on the Hotel Room Allocation entity and then they can use that to set their allocations as needed.

I'm glad you found a solution to your problem. I would like to know how it went in the end. I'm afraid I may have a similar situation. Only the participant of the event is me. At the end of the event, I would like to rest in a hotel for a while longer. But I think most likely I will be rejected, as they probably have a very difficult schedule. That's why I'm asking you - did you manage to do it the way you agreed. It's just that when I stayed at a 5 star hotel near me. (Here it is, if anything - sofitelbrisbane) Coincidentally, everything went smoothly. How it will go in the states, I do not know. I would like to see this country up close after the work conference. Thank you.

It's been a long time since I implemented the solution, but yes from what I recall it worked as I expected. If you're running into a challenge with it, let me know and I can share what I did in more detail.
