Hi
I wish to change the sub grid add record default to add a new record from add an existing record. The challenge I have is that the look up record on the child entity is not mandatory so this usual change to mandatory won't work for me.
Any help would be welcomed please.

Thanks, I don't want to hide it. I want to make it add a brand new record. I understand this can be done with Ribbon Workbench but I'm not sure how...

you can simply hide the "Add existing button" from ribbon workbench.

If on the related entity the lookup field of parent is optional, it will happen. You have to make it mandatory to remove this search lookup so that you could add new record when clicking on "+".
