NAV09 SP1 Can't create report in cyrillic

Our NAV base language is English. We are trying to create a few reports/letters in Cyrillic, but instead of ЙЦУКЕНГШЩЗФЫВАПРОЛДЖЯЧСМИТЬ, it comes out as ÉÖÓÊÅÍÃØÙÇÔÛÂÀÏÐÎËÄÆß×ÑÌÈÒÜ.

Does NAV need a multilanguage pack to be installed or is this the SQL database charset thats not properly setup for our needs?

We don't have control of the NAV or SQL database as we purchased license for a Hotel system and hosting. The company that provides the software said that we should have a Russian version of windows installed on one of our computers. Which we did, but the exact same thing happens, if we just had set the language on any old windows computer.

Try to set in Windows ..\Control Panel\Regional and Language Options\..Language for Non-unicode programs = Russian

With this set you should be Okay with English and Cyrillic chars.

Asuming that this is a code page problem you should start your investigation here:

    support.microsoft.com/.../en-us

... and get more detailed help from here:

Thanks for this, I already tried this sometime ago. We connect via Citrix to the server running NAV 2009.

Do you think I should get them to apply this to the server, instead of us applying it to the xp / win7 clients?

Yes, because the established session between the Server and the Client should use the same code-page during the data exchange phase. Therefore I suggest you apply this to the Server and the Client.

... and don't forget the settings in Citrix Environment!
