Hi experts!

I would like to lard large address data into a table through configuration package; however, it is very slow when Applying data to Package. How can I lord that quickly?

Lookking forward to hearing from you.

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!

    Key Considerations & Optimization Steps:
    1. Split Data into Smaller Batches
      • Instead of importing all records at once, break the data into smaller chunks (e.g., 20,000 records per batch).
      • This reduces processing time and minimizes system strain.
    2. Use XMLPorts for Bulk Imports
      • Configuration Packages are convenient but can be slow for large datasets.
      • XMLPorts provide a structured and efficient way to import bulk data, significantly improving performance.
    3. Optimize Table Indexing
      • Ensure that the target table has appropriate indexing to speed up data processing.
      • If possible, disable unnecessary validations during import and re-enable them afterward.
    4. Run Imports During Off-Peak Hours
      • If your Business Central environment is heavily used, schedule imports during off-peak hours to avoid performance bottlenecks.
    5. Consider Alternative Import Methods
      • Some users have reported better results using third-party import/export tools like Import-Export PowerTool or Power Automate-based solutions.
      • These methods can bypass some of the limitations of Configuration Packages.
    6. Check for System Constraints
      • Ensure that your Business Central environment is not running unnecessary extensions that could slow down performance.
      • If the process is stuck, verify if there are any system locks or background jobs interfering with the import.

    Hope this helps some!

The only thing you can do with configuration packages is to remove the validation. If you go to Table -> Fields, you can uncheck the validation for each field and that should speed it up. But if you do this you have to ensure the data you're loading is correct as the system won't validate it. Otherwise, you can use another solution such as a custom built xml port.

You need to build xmlport which is much faster to load the big data compare to config package.

Totally hear you — loading large address data through a Configuration Package in Business Central can get painfully slow. I would suggest disable Data Validation Temporarily

    Thanks!

There is no limit on Configuration Package. But I remember Microsoft mentioned that using Configuration Package will be slow when processing large data.
This looks like a custom table, you might also consider customizing a simple tool to import Excel.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Hello,

By way of Configuration Package, if you are processing Bulk Large data then yes the System Performance will be slow.

But if you Split the Large Data in Smaller parts like in 1 lac. Then it will be Process Faster and Savings the Time.

Or else as mentioned by Experts, you can use Xml Port or any other things to update the data.

PS: Using configuration packages to import large amounts of data can impact performance and prevent all users from using Business Central during the process.
