Unable to drill down to transaction level in management reporter Ax 2012 R2

Hi

I am currently using Microsoft Axapta 2012 R2. I am unable to drill down to transaction level in management reporter.

1. The report definition ->Detail level is set to Financial, Account & transaction.

2. In some of the forum i read that only column that is defined as Periodic will have drill down to transaction level. The report i am working on has periodic in column definition.

3. after generating the report, i am clicking on Open in Microsoft Dynamics. But nothing happens with that. No response.

can anyone tell me what the issue is?

Thanks

Harry

OK...I found the reason but still have no explanation for that behavior. If you can help, I'll be really grateful:

In Column definition, they have a setup for postings on Posting layer from Current to Operations. If that is set - I can't drill in AX. If I remove that filter - no problem...

    Hello,

I have similar problem. I don't know if it is because MR is newer version that AX2012 R3 CU9, but I can drill in AX from some of the reports, while those that are in sub- folders now don't have that option but they used to.

Like in the screen shot - the Balance_YTD_PTE works OK - drills down to AX perfectly, but if I choose a report from BVD sub-folder - not a chance. If it was because of a software version, then all should not be able to work but that is not the case.

All other setups are as they should be.

    Do you have any ideas?

    Good Morning Harry S,

I found this site here, which describes the different MR versions, their functionalities and their compatibility with different AX versions

    docs.microsoft.com/.../management-reporter-feature-and-version-number-summary

Depending on the AX2012 version that you operate you might upgrade to a more recent MR version.

Probably talk to your IT admins about this.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thank you. I am still unable to drill down to transaction detail. I believe it is due to an old version of Ax 2012 that does not support.

    Hi Harsha,

There have been a number of changes and hotfixes available for the Management Reporter.

It is difficult to know what exactly caused this and what fix made this change.

Maybe this MS docs site helps that describes a number (but not all MR versions) and what came in and when

    docs.microsoft.com/.../dn451220(v=technet.10)

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig

Yes, that is the lowest level of the report before drilling down to transaction level in Ax. Also, is it before we are using the old version of Ax 2012? could this be the problem?

    Thanks

    Harsha

    Hello Harry,

Are you already at the lowest level of your designed report?

Just wondering whether a further drill down is actually possible based on the transactions recorded.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
