Address Composite Issue

Posted on by 375

Hello - Could anyone assist with feedback/recommendations on an issue regarding the composite address fields on the Quote entity?  Both the ship to and bill to are being populated via real time workflow.  The workflow itself is triggering.  I am attempting, upon trigger of the real time workflow, to populate the second address on the account.  If you click inside of the composite, you'll see the second address as the workflow successfully ran.  However the primary address still appears in the composite.  When you click "Done" in the fly-out, the correct address (2nd) populates in the composite but upon save, it reverts back to the primary.  There are no JS functions or other logic running on this form which is what is puzzling.

    Hi,

Good to know that it's resolved.

Although I still find it odd as relationship mapping works in specific scenarios and that it overwrites RTF on an already created record.

Something to play with later :)

Thanks Donna.  It turned out to be as I speculated in my previous response: relationship mapping.  When I deleted the address maps and configured the RTW to handle the conditional mapping, that solved it!  Thanks again!

A few things to check:  ensure that your workflow is actually updating the intended fields.  Carefully check the attribute names and labels that are populated and displayed in the composite address component.  Its possible that they are not the ones your workflow is updating.  Another thing you can do is turn auditing on for the fields and that might provide some insight into what or when the field values are or are not changing.  Also, ensure there is no JS, business rules or other code making changes to the same fields.

Hi Aamer - The accounts primary address is mapped.  I think perhaps that this could be the issue.  The secondary address with which I am attempting to auto update on the form is conditional so I do not want a 1:N mapping for it.   So I am thinking that perhaps I should just remove all mappings for addresses and have the RTW handle the form updating on a conditional basis.  Does that make sense?

    Hi,

Have you tried mapping the individual fields of the composite field according to the address fields you would like to refer?
