We have used Account hierarchies to link multiple child or Sub-Accounts to a parent Account record in Dynamics 365 Sales. From the Parent Account Associated Views of related records (like Opportunities or Activities), we could see records linked to all the sub-accounts from this one spot. Since our upgrade to release 2020 wave 2 and the Unified interface, we don't see this roll-up of related records for the sub-accounts on the parent account anymore.
For example, I have Account A that is a parent account to two sub-accounts called Account B and Account C. Each of the Account B and Account C records have 2 opportunities each linked to them. Before our upgrade, I could go to Account A's Opportunities Associated View and see all 4 of the Opportunities even though none of them were directly linked to Account A because of the roll-up functionality of the hierarchy.
I've reached out to Microsoft technical support multiple times, but have not gotten an explanation of whether this functionality is not working due to a bug or something we need to fix as a result of our upgrade; or if this roll-up functionality has been removed with no plans to return. Does anyone know the answer?
Hi partner,
Account Hierarchy roll-up functionality really doesn't exist after v9.0.
In addition, I'm not sure if this feature was OOTB in versions prior to 9.0.
So I would recommend you share this Idea.
Currently, we can only manually search for all accounts under the parent account through advanced find.
