My company used D365 FAO and D365 CE. We sell software-based solutions, both on a perpetual license basis and in some cases as a subscription or SaaS. Based on metrics like active subscribers per month.
We are looking for a solution for three aspects of this
- Software License Management - Ensuring customers are only able to use the software and feature licenses for which they pay: This would be the back-office, the actual enforcement would be within our software products. But this needs a back office to query - what as the customer purchased, what subscription or service entitlement do they have
- Subscription-based billing - we gather usage information from customers, for example, how many subscribers have used the software in a given month or how many new licenses have been activated and from this generate a bill based on the contractual terms of that customer (such as unit prices, volumes breakpoints etc).
- Subscription-based forecasting - we forecast revenue out 24-36 months. For software subscriptions and activations, we'd want to input projected volumes and have the solution calculated projected revenue. So effectively what is happening for 2) but for forecasting rather than billing
It doesn't look like Dynamics can do this standalone, does anyone have advice on 3rd party plugins/software that will do this?
