    Hi Alan,

The issue could be due to either of the following:
    1. Either your database was restored from higher to the dev box and it has not been renamed as AxDB.
    2. Changes were made to the web.config file and your config settings (as per this link Debug a copy of the production database - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn). Its pointing to the UAT or any Tier2/Tier 3 environment.

Happy to answer questions, if any.

Did you change the database information in "web.config" file? Can you try to perform sync database from VS and check if you receive any error?

I can't help with the original query, but for the Community member asking about updating their DevBox to 10.0.38.... did you install the pre-requisite that was introduced before 10.0.36?

    Hi,
There are 2 possibilities in this case.
    1. Looks like in your development box the database was restored from a higher (Tier 3) to a Tier 1 development environment and some one failed to change the name of the database to AxDB. Can you check that?
    2. Also, check if you have the axdbadmin account working too post restoration of the database.

    Hello Alan,
I am receiving same error when I trying to update my DevBox to MS10.0.38.

Do you remember the solution ?
It would help me a lot and I will be grateful!

    Hi Alan,

Was the name of your VM renamed at any point in time?

You could try to restart the VM and reapply the package.

Another option you have, being a local VM, if to download a fresh VHD and migrate your objects.
