Approval Flow -Skills

Posted on by 60

Hello All,

I recently started working on Workflows within Talent.

i wish to use a workflow for approving any skill entered or updated by an employee  by their managers. I could locate one under HR workflows but that doesn't seem to work for me. is there a way that we have to assign workflows to skills just like we do for Leave plans.

    Hi,

Just noticed the issue on - Step 1 > Assignment > Hierarchy selection > Condition.

Please see screenshot no 7 in the reply above. I believe this will resolve your issue.

    All the best!

    Hi,

To my understanding you are trying to configure Skills workflow, wherein for each new entered or updated skill should be approved by the Line Manager.

If that's the scenario then you can create a basic workflow by following the steps shown below-

Navigate to Personnel management > Setup > HR workflows

Login to workflow editor and define steps

Double click on middle decision box termed as Approve Skills 1  will route you to below screen

Then select/ click on the box within-  Step 1

One by one click on the fields in the ribbon on top (as highlighted in the screenshot above) to complete the approval process

    Basic settings-

    Assignments-

Because your requirement is such that it should go to the Manager for approval, we will select Hierarchy as the Assignment type

    pastedimage1574270241427v1.png

We will use Managerial hierarchy and shall define the value as 1, meaning the workflow when triggered will be assigned to the Line Manager (for approval) of the workflow originator.

Time limit can be set as per company policy.

Those are the steps by which you can configure Skills workflow with +1 approval hierarchy, and will be applicable to all the skills configured in your Talent instance

In case you wish to setup few specific skills that require approval and remaining to be auto approved, then you must configure a Conditional Decisioning  workflow.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!
