Dynamics AX 2012 R3 - licenses application

Hello community, 

If a customer running AX 2012 r3 decides contract Software assurance instead of renewing BREP, do they supposed to do anything regarding to the access to the AX? I mean to apply a new validation of licenses or something like that, or in this case is related just to the support and there is no effect in the AX access.
