Docker and Dynamics NAV Administration Tool?

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Hello,

I have been able to launch Dynamics NAV 2018 via Docker.

I can access the web agent but I don't know how to access the Administration Tool.

Does anybody know?

To be more precise I need to enable APIs according to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-nav/enabling-apis-for-dynamics-nav

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Giovanni

    Hi,

All the Adminisration Tool can be accessed through the Nav-Container-Helper module.

Then you need to create a CSIDE container with the Nav-Container-Module . You get direct access to Administration.

You also need to publish the ports for enabling the Web Services.

Sorry, I don't understand your solution. We are also trying to get the Administration Tool working inside a running NAV 2018 (or BC on Premise) container.

And I don't understand what you are saying about a C/SIDE Container.

    Please can you clarify that?

    Thank you in Advance.

    Best regards

    Chris

Use the Powershell Script to ena ble them and use Restart Command to restart.

If you have used the shortcuts parameter while creating the container it would have created shortcuts for the Powershell or you need to access it some like this, where NAV2018CU10 is container name.

    C:\Windows\system32\CMD.EXE /C docker.exe exec -it NAV2018CU10 powershell -noexit c:\run\prompt.ps1

    Hi

I used New-NavContainer for creating my container but I dont see any powershell - shortcuts.
    Am I missing a parameter?

When you use the New-NAVContainer use the Parameter  -shortcuts Desktop it will create shortcuts on Desktop.
