Admin user provisioning tool - (503) Server Unavailable error and unable to start Dynamics on VHD

Hi

I have created a VM using the version 10.0.5 VHD files from LCS.

I have tried to provision the admin user but I just get the error "The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable"

When I go to the D365 URL it just says this page is not available/the page cannot be displayed. The VM definitely has internet access.

The AOSService is running - i do see in the error logs, the following: A process serving application pool 'AOSService' suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation Service. The process id was '5832'. The data field contains the error number.

I've been trying to get this VM working for the last couple of days now and I've run out of ideas - can anyone offer any suggestions of things to check please?

Many thanks

I have the same question (0)

Its not a direct answer to your question, but you can always download new VM and use it. It may be faster than try to fix this one.

Its seems to application pools is not running due to some reason , just go to IIS ,and check whether application pools are at running state,  and make sure Self sign certificates are not expired.

also check whether your OS trial license expired or not ,

I had similar ERROR  because of those underlying issues.

    Hope this will help,

restart IIS, ensure application pool is running, also ensure batch service is running and suggest

All application pools are running, I have restarted IIS and checked certificates.

    Any other ideas?

I have started downloading the 10.0.9 VHD so will try with that but it would be good to know why this one isn't working as well

    Many thanks

Open event viewer and then run admin provisioning tool again and check what is the event ID(s) .

By the way i hope you've checked SQL related Services & SQL Configurations (client /Server Protocols)  already.

    Hi Leddy365,

Can you tell when exactly the issues started? Did you make any changes to e.g. models, customizations or was it now the first time you start this machine?

    Hi Andre,

I haven't made any changes, this is from the first time I started the machine.

As far as I can tell, everything is set up as it should be.

    Cheers

    Hi all,

Just to update, I did download the 10.0.9 VHD and was able to successfully get the URL and the admin provisioning to work.

I then joined to my work domain and it stopped working!

After an hour or so with our network guy trying to figure out what the issue is, it seems a group policy has applied for the following setting in Internet Options > Connectivity > LAN Settings - Automatically detect settings - this should be unchecked!

    LANSettings.PNG

I went back to the 10.0.5 VHD, changed this setting there and it also worked! So unbelievably frustrating!

Thank you for all your advice - hopefully this will help someone else in the future if they have a similar problem.

    Cheers

    leddy
