Business Process Error when merging accounts

When attempting to merge two account records in Production I run into a Business Process Error (see screenshot).  I am unable to reproduce in Sandbox.  I figure this is a plug-in issue but am new to Dynamics CRM and am unsure how to go about verifying that.

Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

    Can you check if you have any real time workflow or business rule (scope entity)? The "Business Process Error" generaly occurs from the custom implementation i.e. plugin, workflow or business rule.

    Thanks for the response.  We do not have any plug-ins set up for account records or related workflows.  I tested merging several other account records and it worked without issue.  Something must be wrong with the two individual records I am attempting to merge.  I cannot tell just from looking at the forms themselves.  Have you seen anything like this before?

    Please check your Sync Plugin , The issue seems to be with a field like owner that is related to user entity.

    This is likely to be an issue with an account entity Plug-in. Do you have a developer that can investigate this for you?
