Dynamics Portals Display Note Attachments

Hi all,

I have a  custom entity named "Documents" that has notes enabled. These notes can hold attachments which are stored in Azure Storage. Any attachments that reside in the CRM instance are displayed on the portal whereas attachments that reside in Azure Storage do not.

I have looked at the following so far:

  • Enable entity permissions for annotations
  • Configure the webform metadata to look at Notes and Azure Storage
  • Added adx_annotations web resource

Unfortunately to no avail. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

J

    Hi J,

Have you followed the steps mentioned below to enable Azure Storage?

    docs.microsoft.com/.../enable-azure-storage

If yes, ensure that on the notes control metadata, you select the location as Azure instead on notes.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ravi,

I have followed the steps in that article.

I raised a case with Microsoft who indicated that although documents can be displayed in a portal these must reside in D365. Portals cannot display attachments that reside in Azure Storage.

    Thanks,

    J

This is not true..that documentation talks about storing and displaying documents from Azure Storage. Share the document/article with MS Support and let them know that you are following the official documentation.
