Make Model Driven Apps Appear on Dynamics 365 for Phones or Tablets App

Posted on by 70

How do I make the model driven apps I've built in D365 appear on the D365 mobile app? I see the out of the box mobile and the customer service app in my mobile app, but none of the model driven apps I have created are showing up there. Can someone please help me understand how this works?

Thanks!!

Are you checking that the proper security roles have been assigned for accessing the new model-driven apps? This is located under Settings / My Apps. Click the 3 dots in the corner of the App tile and choose "Manage Roles". This will display the security roles in your Dynamics 365 system. You can then put a check-mark next to the roles that should have access.

Also, check the security roles to make sure the "Model-drive App" option has been enabled. Reference: cargas.com/.../users-do-not-see-mobile-apps-in-dynamics-365-crm-version-9-1

    Hi Jason,

You could check if your process is correct by following the article on creating an app:

Please make sure you've saved and published your custom App.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, this helps, but does not resolve my issue. The apps I am creating are definitely UI apps and they are still not showing up in the mobile app. We are on version  9.1.0.3842, and as such as you noted, we are only creating UI apps.

    Any other ideas?

Is there a setting somewhere I am missing? Am I correct in understanding that when we create model driven apps, they should be available on the mobile app?

    Hi Jason,

    1. After creating the app using App Designer, please make sure to publish it.

    2. What is the version of your D365?

Before version 1710 (9.0.2.2279) of Dynamics 365 Online, we can see it contains the Client options Web and Unified Interface.

After an automatic minor update to the newer version 1710 (9.1.0.33) online you can only create Unified Interface.

If you create an app for a web client, this won't appear in Dynamics 365 for Phones. We can only create apps for the Unified Interface.

    3. After creating the app, we need to quit Dynamics 365 for Phones and log in again, or refresh it.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Lu Hao
