Hide / remove Import from Excel button from ribbon

Hi All,

I would like to remove the "Import from Excel" button found on various ribbons - see attached image.

So far, I've tried:

1. Ribbon Workbench - Import from Excel button is not visible, although I can remove any other buttons.

2. Restricting access through roles - removed permission for Data Import, Import Source File - no difference.

I could resort to JavaScript to remove the button DOM element but I thought there must be a better way.

If anyone has seen / solved this problem, please let me know.

Best regards,

Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Please select TABLET tab, and find it place as screenshot(It stays at left of EXPORT TO EXCEL button)

Some buttons may not display intuitively.

Actually when you open developer tool and inspect the button element, you will find that its data-id attribute is same as that blank button id property, also for CSV and Exchange button when click caret and they are shown in pop-up, just no icon.

    Regards,

    Clofly

Did you load an entity or the application ribbon in ribbon Workbench?

Application ribbon is universal, and then you can override that with the entity ribbons.

Regarding security roles; Did you also check the privileges; "Export to Excel" and "data mapping"?
