Hi All,

Although the customer purchased Minimum 20 Licenses of D365 Finance, they only need 10 Licenses to use at this moment.

In this case, can they use rest of 10 Licenses in other countries or subsidiaries? (Domain would be different)

If YES, how they can assign these rest of 10 Licenses to other countries or subsidiaries? just through Admin center?

Hi,

How is your client going to use the rest of the licenses in other countries? Are they looking to grant the subsidiaries access to the same environment (setting up a different legal entity) or do they need to setup a different environment for them?

They will have access to setup a single Prod environment with the licenses they bought. They might be be able to setup a new legal entity in this environment for other subsidiaries, but I am not sure if they can allocate these licenses for another tenant.

I don't think they can setup a different environment with the same licenses.

I would suggest you to contact Microsoft in any case to get a definitive answer regarding their requirements.

Hi YK3,

To clarify the "I don't think" as mentioned by Gunjan: When you need a second instance, you can't use the remaining 10 licenses. In that case, you need another 20 minimum. The minimum requirement is per different environment even if it is on the same tenant.

-> Yes it is possible and that is the way it is used for every implementation, Licenses you buy will be applied to each user, it doesn't matter which LE(company) user has access or to all LE. License type will be different according to role/access given though.
