Cant delete DRAFT General Journal - Delete button greyed out

Hi - I have a number of DRAFT general journals that I cant delete. I have deleted the lines > saved and then the delete option is greyed out. Any idea how I can get rid of these?

Hi,

Are you using sys admin role? Can u check if you have any roles which doesn't have delete rights?

Hi,

I have SysAdmin role.

I have tried submitting through workflow > recalling and then tried deleting - but same problem.

I have gone into the Journal > Functions > Delete Lines > Save and then come back and the line re-appears

Once the journals are in a draft state you should be able to delete them.

I would suspect a modification could be the reason for not allowing deletion of these GL journals.

Check your modifications in this area is the best advice.

Hi,

Two possibilities I can see.

1. You are trying just after the recall, it take few minutes to change the status, I trust this may not be the case.

2. You have customization in some role or feature which is stopping you to delete the same.

Hi,
I can delete it in the standard test environment.

Can you delete the DRAFT General Journal after Line reappears? And you can also check out the old thread discussing this issue.
Delete general journals (dynamics.com)
Cannot delete draft journal (dynamics.com)

Did you try it using Admin user? Maybe there is some security restrict deletion.

Hi,

I have tried all possible suggestions. Tried in Test environment as well.

The Journals are in DRAFT mode. Tried deleting lines via function > delete Journal lines, but as soon as I save and go back into the lines they re-appear.

The set-up is as below:

Please have a look at the customizations you have done in this area.

I would expect that to be the culprit of your issue.

Hi,

I found the issue. Thanks for your input. When I clicked into the Journal Type in this case VATONLY it opened up the below. I changed the highlighted to NO. I would have though Sys Admin would have been able to over ride this.
