PMA vs Project Operations Feature in F&O

Hi,
 
I have a solutioning question with respect to PSA to PO upgrade changes in the Finance & Operations side.
 
Scenario: A client is using PMA [Project Management Accounting] where Projects are residing in Finance and Operations system.
Coming up is an upgrade from PSA (from CE side) to Project Operations - this will enable Project Operations in Finance and Operations as well.
 
Question is: What happens to the Projects in PMA in F&O if the Project Operations is enabled in F&O? How does this scenario play out?

    In addition, you can also refer to this old thread: PSA to Project Operations upgrade thread (dynamics.com), which describes the experience of other users to upgrade
