Good day,

I trust you are well.

I have an issue with the leave request workflows. I desperately need help. I went through several blogs found interesting stuff but still can't find a solution of r my case.

A leave request must be submitted by an employee, the first approval is his/her direct manager. once the request has been approved, the final approver (HR Man) will also need to approve.

at this stage, an employee is able to submit a request. The only problem is that the status is "submitted". I checked the bach jobs, I couldn't the workflow status is on "waiting" but the request status does not move.

I also thought of creating a parent and child workflow since we have two approvals but the thing is I do not know how it works or if it is even possible on D365 HR. I would like to get like a workflow for the manager to approve, once it is done then the HR workflow is approved.

At the end of the day, I am trying to find a way to approve leave requests or any other request submitted by employees.

Hi NoNamw,

Could you check workflow history and let us know about situation there ? Was there any error message in workflow processing ? It might failed due to some missing setup.

Hi Michael,

I think there might be errors even in the way the workflow has been set but I do not know how to fix it. I have tried several other options yesterday still nothing.

Under the tracking details list section, the status is "submission" not moving to "in review"

Under the tracking details section, I only have "Workflow activated"

Nothing under work Item.

Could you share screenshots from Workflow history ?

What about other workflows ? Could you check whether other workflows work fine ? Is it only this one which is not ?

At this moment it looks like a general issue with workflow batch job and batch job server. I would recommend to check the batch job setup and recreate workflow batch jobs.

Hi Michael,

I tried sharing screenshots here but I was not able to paste them, could you tell me how to do that?

I am having the very same issues with the other workflows. Not sure if they are wrongly designed. I tried several of them.

Also, I checked the bach jobs, I can see that the workflow status there is waiting so there should not be an issue, right? Withholding would be the issue.

Hi,

After reading your lines I would recommend to delete all workflow batch jobs and create them again. I would also recommend to double check that batch job servers are correctly setup.

Hello Nonamw,

Your screenshots were not necessary. It is clear that the Workflow batch job is not working. I would recommend to delete all workflow batch jobs and create them again. I would also recommend to double check that batch job servers are correctly setup.
