CIL generation: An error occurred while parsing EntityName

Hi,

I was doing Full CIL Generation but before doing it, I deleted all the files on the XppIL folder. After full CIL generation, I got this error: "CIL generation: An error occurred while parsing EntityName. Line 106872,  position 308."

Any ideas how to resolve this?

    Review the last CIL Generation log

    Go to Dynamics AX Developer workspace > Build > Show Last CIL Generation log

    I believe you can find more details about the error.

    Please verify and update us with your findings

      at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseElement()

      at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseElementContent()

      at System.Xml.XmlLoader.LoadNode(Boolean skipOverWhitespace)

      at System.Xml.XmlLoader.ReadCurrentNode(XmlDocument doc, XmlReader reader)

      at System.Xml.XmlDocument.ReadNode(XmlReader reader)

      at Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Xpp.ILGenerator.GenerateXppModule()

    But I really don't understand the error. how do i fix this error? Thanks!

    can you please confirm that you had full compilation and you did not had any compilation error

    If no compilation error were there then please try to refresh the caches and restart the AOS.

                      I haven't tried it yet. I will try to compile it today. But what if there is no error upon compilation what should i do? And if there is? Thanks

    I hope full compilation will help.

    if there is any error try to fix it.

    If there is no error try to refresh the caches and restart the AOS.

    I tried refreshing the caches but nothing happened. Error still occurs during Full CIL compilation

    Can you confirm that you compiled X++ for the whole application and didn't get any errors?

    If you still can't find any solution and/or you're interested in inner workings, you can actually debug the process of generating CIL. You'll need a CIL decompiler such as .NET Reflector. (Also see this thread, where we discussed something similar.)

    Hi Martin,

    Yes, I compiled the whole MS AX Application. I also tried the steps on this link:

    community.dynamics.com/.../error-the-cil-generator-found-errors-and-could-not-save-the-new-assembly.aspx

    Hi Martin,

                     I downloaded and installed redgate but how do i use it? i don't know where to start and im not familiar with the software. Most of people using it are using C#/MS Visual studio. how about in ax?
