Error - Valid Tax region could not be identified from the information provided

Hi All, while trying to create a tax region i get this error:

A valid tax region could not be identified from the information provided. Search again using different options to identify a valid region.

we are on AX 2012 R3 CU10, with no customizations yet.  i have updated the Tax Engine to latest binary and updated the tax data too but no luck.

Steps to replicate the issue:

1. On Tax Region form , Click New button

2. on the new Tax Region form key-in "Name", tab out

3. Key-in valid zip-code in zip code field, tab out (city, state, county will be auto-filled using GAB)

4. Click OK

i kind of understood that PayRollTaxEngineUtil is not able to find a record corresponding to GAB record  that was used to auto-fill the fields.

Work-around(not using GAB record to find corresponding Tax record):

  • On the new Tax Region form : fill up Name, State -> Click Ok
  • Multiple Tax regions form pops-up -> pick the correct record and click OK
  • This way I am able to create Tax region record

i have a work-around, but my business users would like to key-in the zip and tab out and click ok to create Tax Region record.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Santosh

Cause for this issue is casing mis-match of County name between Tax Engine and GAB Address Set-up data.

Looks like this is an out of box issue and for now i am planning to populate duplicate records in County and Zip tables with Upper case county name.

Root cause of this is not casing but "New Line Character" at the end of County Name (\n and \r)

this need to be fixed during "Zip code Import" process in Address Set-Up
