Dear 365 Community:

I am testing some scenarios on Line Discount and Multi-line Discount. Please adbise what are the differences and would appreciate an example to illustrate the difference.

Thanks for the reference document.

I noted during my testing for multi-line discount. Even though I have a single line/item only in SO line but it meets the quantity condition I set in multi-line discount setup, the multi-line will trigger/apply and the line discount will be deleted. If I revised the quantity to lower than 100 i.e, 95 in this example then only the line discount will be applied

Based on the document multi-line discount will only trigger if there are multiple lines that will sum up to the quantity specified. Based on the below scenario it will calculate as long as it meets the quantity even though it is single line only. Please verify this. Thanks

For the above screen shots, based on Line Disc & Muti Line discount definition, I should only get 1% Line discount since I only have 1 SO line, even though the total quantity is 100 ? Or this by design or a bug?

If I Add a 2nd line for Product 0002 with a quantity of 1

and changed the Qty of PRoduct 0001 from 100 to 99

Total Qty of 100 pcs

Then the logic of line disocunt & multi line discount will be correct

where it will apply Line Disc 1% and Multi Line Disc 5% to Product 001

and same for Product 0002 which will apply Line Disc 1% and Multi Line Disc 5%

Hi Pamela,

It will calculate Multi-line discount for single line as well, it just look at all lines (one or more) in multi-line discount. Take a look at link below, it details it very well with an example. Also there is parameter in AR that controls what kind of discount you want system to calculate (there are couple of options when it comes to combination of line and multi-line discount).
