I have a client whose company split into 2 companies. Each of the companies bought new GP licenses with their new names. This particular company was going to continue to use the SQL server that they were currently on, so I just changed the registration keys for GP and everything was fine. However, now Management Reporter won't work and when I try to paste in the keys (they are on an older version), it tells me that they are invalid. I think that it must still be looking somewhere at the old name and comparing it to the pasted keys to say that they are invalid. How can I get it to accept the new keys? Thanks!
The license requirement for MR was removed in CU13. You'll want to update MR to CU13 or higher. That will give you an unlimited number of users in MR. If you can't update, you'll need to open a support case and support can give you a generic key that will work with MR.
Thanks for the reply Greg. We are planning on upgrading this client to the newest version of GP and moving them to a new server. I am also planning on doing a new install of the latest version of MR, but was hoping to just get into the old MR long enough to export out their reports so that i can import them into the new install. After the GP is transferred, upgraded, and everything has been verified on the new version, I am thinking about putting the registration keys for GP back in the old server to see if MR would take the MR keys for that company name. If that doesn't work, then we will initiate a support incident. Any thought on whether that will work or not?
