Hi,

While creating "Sales Tax Code", where should I give the state and country details? and can any one explain me about what is the use of "Settlement Period", Is settlement period is used as the state code?

    Hi Sathish,

    The setup is different per country due to local legislations. Please provide information for which country you try to do this setup. Then someone might assist you. Usually this is known by the partner and consultants help with this setup during the implementation.

    Hi Sathish,

    The demonstration data of AX 2012 contains the company USMF with some Sales Tax settings. I don't know if these settings are complete and fully working for each state.

    Country details you have to specify while creating the Company/ Legal Entity. The country specific layer for taxes in AX 2012 is based on that selection. State Codes you've to create manually with PIN codes. Especially for India Sales Tax, this will determine whether to apply India Sales Tax (Inter State Sale) or VAT (within State Sale).
