Audit Retention Policy Ignored

I have a client that we've configured 180 days for their retention policy.

Audit logs beyond 180 are still there.

Has anyone else experienced this?

    Never mind.  I figured it out.  When a retention policy is set only records created after the time of the change are affected.  In this case we need to manually delete the old stuff.
