    Hi Shijithkumar,

There is no the best one, it depends on your requirements.

Since you don't like direct connections, byod is a good choice.

Please have a look at this blog:

    terrychoo.com/.../

But you have to implement PowerBI service and it will have additional costs.

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

We are in onpermisses implementation and not using powerbi.com. Server is behind a  firewall. And we didn't like to give direct sql server access from user network.

Is there any method to connect Power bi desktop with on permisses dynamics 365 FO.

BYOD also requires direct access to a db server.

    Hi partner,

SO you could create Power BI reports by using OData endpoints that are exposed via data entities.

    Refer to the following blog:

    Dear Will

Odata also not available for on permisses.

Actually on permisses implementation have no capability of BI.

What i think is to create a data warehouse and expose that tp users.

    Regards

    Hi partner,

    Thanks for reply.

And if you want to create a data warehouse, so I don't understand why you think BYOD doesn't meet your requirements.

    Thanks.

As per my understanding we BYOD is for online hosting. We are using on-premises and DB is in our control.

But as per our security policy we can't expose the direct connectivity to any production server.

I like to have OData type connectivity and a out of box BI for on premise installation as well.

    thanks for your support.

Please let me know if there is another solution.

    Shijith

    Hi partner,

    I got your points.

On-premises deployment has supported Entity store now.

And you can use entity store to integrate with Powerbi.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/zh-cn/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/analytics/power-bi-integration-entity-store

    Hope this helps
