QR Code Anchor Green Outline Won't Disappear

The QR Code Anchor Green outline won't disappear following proper scan and confirmation.  So it remains in view throughout authoring/operating the guide.  As a result, for the guide I'm authoring, it gets in the way of other Holograms being used.

I'm using the current HoloLens 2 app.  I thought I remembered previous versions not doing this -- the Green outline would disappear following confirmation.

Am I missing something -- or perhaps this is the current intended operation?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Persist Tech,

By design the green outline will remain until you exit the anchored guide. This allows you to confirm at a glance whether the anchor is still aligned properly. However, the green outline should not be getting in the way. Can you help me understand what is happening? I can file a bug or collect feedback so our engineering team can improve the experience.

Dave -- thanks for the quick response!  So the guide I'm working on is for a demo.  The intent is for customers to use the guide to perform some final assembly/setup of a 3D printer -- and then printout some kind of giveaway -- as part of our hybrid-cloud initiative.  Who doesn't want to see augmented reality - right?  But I have initially placed the anchor on a removeable cover on the printer.  One of the early steps is removing the cover and placing off to the side -- providing easy access inside.  But then the green outline persists in the way of other Holograms.

Placing the anchor on the cover was convenient and easy to access.  So I'll just move the anchor to one of the sides -- and reposition everything.  However, might having an option in the future to remove the outline after confirmation make any sense?  Just a thought.

Now I understand - yes, in that case the outline will obscure other holograms. I am glad you could reposition the anchor and I'll bring this feedback to the team. In the meantime it sounds like you are building something awesome (3D printing + augmented reality!). If it's public, be sure to post the results/links back to the community because we would love to see it. Thank you for posting!

Thanks for the feedback Dave.  I'll let you know how it turns out.  I'm getting close to being able to do a couple test runs.

Dave -- let me know if I should start a separate question for this.

So using Miracast is a great way to demonstrate to a customer how to become familiar with using and navigating through a guide.  Then once they put on the headset I can monitor what they are doing and provide guidance (pun fully intended) to help provide the best possible experience with Guides and the capabilities.

But when you start Miracast the user is presented with a blinking Miracast icon in the left eye.  In my view this very distracting.  Is there any way to disable the icon?

Brent - great question. I will reach out to the HoloLens team and in the meantime go ahead and post as a new question. Thank you!

Dave -- any chance I could talk to you live about my Guides/3D Printer demo -- AND the new TTS feature you guys added to Guides?  Perhaps we could exchange contact info and a time that might work.  Thx.
