I am trying to plan an upgrade from GP2018R2 (18.00.0704(R2)) to 18.5, but am a bit confused in looking at the documentation.
It seems like I may have to go through at least three updates to get to 18.5.
That said, what is the proper path to get from 18.00.0704(R2) to 18.5? Look forward to a response.

Just to add to this. Be careful with any third-party addons, too. They may have a prerequisite to make an intermediate GP upgrade for their own upgrade.
Found out that little surprise and to get to 18.5, I needed to upgrade from 18.4 2021 year-end update to 18.4 2022 mid-year update and then to 18.5 2022 year-end update.

I agree, it is tough to understand the upgrade paths sometimes.
What I usually refer to at this point, is the note in our Upgrading Microsoft Dynamics GP hot topic, that Richard referenced:
"Note: As an example of a supported (tested by Microsoft) upgrade path to 18.5.1556 (October 2022 Release) or 2022 Year-End would be from GP 2016 16.00.0864 or later and GP 18.3.1173 or later."

As we've actually tested the upgrade from 18.3.1173 to 18.5.xxxx, including the Jan 2023 hotfix, the recommendation would be to upgrade from 18.00.0704 to 18.3.1173, then to the 18.5.xxxx build that you want or need to upgrade to.

You will need to get to GP 18.3.1173 or later and then you can hop to GP 18.5.1635.
